This book is more of a long pamphlet but that doesn’t diminish the valuable information in it. Ellie identifies the most important macro nutrients that everyone should be eating and in the proper ratios. She spells it all out in very easy to read fashion and it feels more like a conversation. She outlines how to read nutrition labels and what to look for. She also gives plenty of sample meal options as well as the exact recipes for you to prepare at home. In addition to that she gives some quick calculations for goal setting and sample calorie ranges for both men/women to stay within when on their fat loss/maintenance or muscle building path. Ellie gives some great recommendations for clean eating at Fast Food restaurants with many recognizable chain establishments as well, since life happens to all of us and we can’t be super healthy all the time. One last great takeaway from this book is that you don’t have to deprive yourself when counting your macros. Ellie and many others who follow macro programs, (I’ve been personally using them off and on for a few years now) will tell you that an 80/20 ratio or so of clean food versus a cheat meal or two is more than fine and you’ll still arrive at your goals if you remain consistent and continue to workout and lead an active lifestyle. Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed, food should be no exception. .. Overall this is a great, yet simple read that will give anyone who struggles with food choices some sound structure on how to calculate what, when and even where to eat. Highly recommend this book.
